This was a pleasant book, if not perhaps very memorable. The author, an amiable man, buys a farm in Spain and recounts all the travails of dealing with the endless problems of farming and house maintenance that ensue–the house is fairly primitive, to say the least. Like Peter Mayle’s book, only in Spain instead of Provence–and also with real farming, sheep, goats, and fields needing to be irrigated. He and his wife are eventually blessed with a baby girl, and there are many charming stories he tells about their life–adventures which continue, apparently–he has a blog, here:http://drivingoverlemons.co.uk/ .
Though the life is hard, the neighbors are friendly–and the scenery is spectacular!
